How to Create a Batch Order

What Is a Batch Order?

A batch order is a product order that groups multiple product orders based on their configuration similarity. So you can use a batch order to create multiple identical product orders all at once under the same batch order number.

However, you will still have full traceability of each product order that makes a batch order. They still have their product order number and their own traceability report.

Here’s how to use the batch order feature:

Step 1: Configuring a Batch Order on an Article

Before creating a batch order, you must first configure it on an article. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Click Quality Management in the homepage sidebar.
  2. Click Quality Procedures.
  3. Click an existing article category.
  4. Click the ERP Configuration tab.
  5. Select an existing article, and click the ⋮ (three-dot) icon.
  6. Click Edit.
  7. Enter the automatic order number format. To learn about the existing format options, click “show documentation”. In this video, we will use a simple decimal base order number format (####).
  8. Afterward, click Save.

Step 2: Creating a Batch Order

After finishing step 1, you now create batch orders. Here’s how to create one:

  1. Click Quality Management in the homepage sidebar and select Product orders.
  2. Click the white Create batch order button.
  3. Write the batch order number/name.
  4. Select the number of product orders that will be included in this batch.
  5. Check the product order numbers/names underneath. Note: The numbers on the video start with “0005” because 4 product orders of the same article have been created previously.
  6. Click Modify product orders in batch to see further editing possibilities that you would normally see on an ordinary product order.
  7. If you would like to modify the variants and parameters of this batch order, click the Variants & Parameters tab.
  8. Click Create batch order when you’re done.

How Are The Generated Product Orders Linked Within The Batch?

All product orders are linked to their batch orders. The batch order acts as a “parent category” for all product orders that fall under its umbrella.

  • If you activate the batch order, all product orders under it will also be activated.
  • If you edit the batch order, then the edits will also be implemented on all product orders under it.
  • If you archive the batch order, all product orders under it will also be archived.
  • If you unarchive the batch order, all product orders under it will also be unarchived.
  • If you delete the batch order, all product orders under it will also be deleted.

Click the ⋮ (three-dot) icon shown in the image below to open the batch order action options.
