What types of user accounts are there in Azumuta?
There are two types of user accounts in Azumuta: admins and operators.
An admin is the manager of an Azumuta workspace. Admins use Azumuta's modules and add-ons to create, edit, share, and delete content, and they assign operators to shop floor tasks based on that content.
Operators execute the content assigned to them, such as work instructions and product orders. They can also create, edit, share, and delete content, but with more limited permissions.
Admins mainly use Azumuta on the web, while operators mainly use the Azumuta App. See the introduction to the Azumuta App for more on the differences between the two platforms.
Only admins can add new user accounts. The group you assign a new user to determines whether they become an admin or an operator, so there's a single create user flow for both.
Add a user account
- Click Users under Management.
- Click Overview.
- Click the yellow + button.
- Select the groups to assign the user to. Adding the user to an admin group will give them admin access. If no suitable group exists yet, create one first: see how to add a new user group.
- Fill in the user's first and last name.
- Fill in an email address. For an operator, you can check No email address instead and skip this field.
- Click Save.
Azumuta emails the new user instructions to set up their account. If the operator was created without an email address, no email is sent. Sign them in instead with Generate one-time QR code to login user or set up the identifier login.
