How to Open the Variant Editor
- Click Variants under Management.
- Click the ⋮ (three-dot) icon next to the targeted variant.
Here’s what you can edit on the variant editor:
- The General tab, where you can edit a variant’s main attributes.
- The Properties tab, where you can manage a variant’s properties.
- Click to edit the variant’s color.
- Edit the variant’s name here.
- Edit the variant’s description here.
- When you’re done with your edits, click Save. However, if you would like to cancel your edits, click Cancel.
How to Unlink a Variant from a Work Instruction
- Click Variants under Management.
- Click the link icon next to the targeted variant.
- Click Unlink next to the targeted work instruction.
- Click Unlink again.
Before unlinking a variant from a work instruction, make sure that there are no work instruction steps that is still linked to that variant. If not, you wouldn’t be able to unlink the variant from that particular work instruction.
Here’s how to unlink a variant from a work instruction step (on the video, we will untick the Fill Weight: 10kg variant from the Carefully lower the wrapped washing machine into the 10kg box, ensuring it fits snugly work instruction step).
- Click the targeted work instruction.
- Untick the box where this variant is the only linked variant on that row.
Once you’ve unlinked the variant from the previously-linked work instructions step, you can do the steps listed in this section in order to unlink a variant from a work instruction.
How to Delete a Variant
- Click Variants under Management.
- Click the ⋮ (three-dot) icon next to the targeted variant.
- Click Delete variant.
- Click Remove variant.
Make sure that there are no work instructions that are still linked to the variant that you wish to delete. If there are, please check out this section to see how to unlink a variant from a work instruction.
