Before you start, check the requirements: the feature must be enabled for your workspace, and you need the right to import library items.
Export a work instruction
- Navigate to the work instruction that you would like to export.
- Click Revision History.
- Next to the work instruction version that you would like to export (the latest version is always on top), click the ⋮ (three-dot) icon.
- Under Export, choose Export as importable file.
- Click Download file.
Note: You can’t export a draft version. If you choose XLSX file under Export, you won’t be able to import the work instruction into another location in Azumuta. This file type is only meant to be opened in Microsoft Excel (and other programs that support .xlsx files).
Import a work instruction as a new work instruction
This creates a new work instruction in a folder.
- Click the ⋮ (three-dot) icon next to the folder that you would like to import into.
- Click Import work instruction.
- Select the work instruction file that you've exported previously.
- Optionally, edit the new work instruction name.
- Check the preview. You can leave out some instruction blocks and/or instruction steps from being imported. To leave out something, click the Add dropdown menu next to the item that you would like to leave out, and click Ignore.
- Scroll down and click Start import.
- Wait until the import process is complete.
Note: Import work instruction only appears on folders that can contain work instructions. It isn't available on archived or read-only folders.
If the preview shows warnings, the import is blocked until you create what's missing in the destination workspace. See Why an import can be blocked.
Import a file into an existing work instruction (beta)
Instead of creating a new work instruction, you can merge an exported file into one that already exists.
- Navigate to the work instruction that you would like to import into.
- Click Revision History.
- Click Import new version....
- Select the work instruction file that you've exported previously.
- Check the preview. Next to each item, choose what happens to it: Add, Update, Remove, or Ignore.
- Scroll down and click Start import.
- Wait until the import process is complete.
Note: Import new version... is disabled if the work instruction is locked or read-only, or if you don't have the right to import library items.
