An identifier login lets operators sign in to a shared device with a personal code instead of a full account login. This is useful when operators share devices instead of having their own.
This article covers setting up identifier login on a device. To log in once setup is done, see how to log in with an identifier.
As an admin, you set this up in three steps: add the device, authenticate it, and give each operator a code.
To reach the device list: go to Management → Devices.
Add the device
This is the device your operators will use. You'll do this for each individual device.
- Click the yellow plus button.
- In the Name field, type the device's name.
- Add a Device Group to copy the group's settings.
- In the Type dropdown, select the device type.
- Click Add. You can change the other options later.
Authenticate the device
- On the admin's device, next to the device, click Copy unique device link and share it with the operator.
- On the operator's device, open the link and click Sign in with identifier (needs setup).
- The operator's device will open the camera to scan a QR code and will display a 6-digit code.
- Back on the admin's device, click Setup Sign in with identifier button at the top
- Toggle the Ask for password when signing in with identifier for additional security .
- You can now authenticate the operator's device by choosing to:
- Scan the QR-code with the operator's device camera.
- Verify that the code matches with operator's device and clicking Approve .
Operators can now log in to this device using their identifier.
Repeat the above steps for each device that you want to register.
Give operators an identifier code
- Go to Management → Users.
- Click the … (three-dot) icon next to the operator, then click Edit user.
- Type the code in the Login identifier field, then click Save.
Remove the identifier login option from the device
- Next to the device, click Copy unique device link.
- Open the link in a new browser tab.
- Click the … (three-dot) icon in the top right.
- Click Reset "Sign in with identifier", then click OK.
